PREVAILING THROUGH PRAYER

Related imageReading through Exodus 17 yesterday, I was so blessed. Permit me to share a bit of what I saw in that loaded chapter of the Bible. I noted that warfare is an integral part of life. Israel never did anything to Amalek before they were attacked. Believe it or not, there are enemies everywhere.

I also noticed that we prevail in life when the Lord of Hosts is our captain. As long as the hands of Moses were lifted to God, the enemies could not prevail against them.

Next thing I noted was that out of the millions of people who came out with Moses, only two people were divinely chosen to lift up his hands. When God gives you an assignment to fulfil. He does not assign everybody to be your destiny helper. Quit being bitter with people who do not assist you. Fix your gaze on Jesus for He is the author and finisher of our faith.

Matthew 13:25 says, But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. We will neither slumber nor sleep in Jesus name. The God of heaven revives us and makes us instruments of revival in Jesus name.

GODLY PATTERN FOR LEADERSHIP

I made a futile attempt at registering and obtaining my voters card on Friday. The crowd was much and disorder was in the air. It is my decision to be there early this morning. This nation is ours and the counsel of God for it must stand in Jesus name.

Looking into my Bible recently, I saw something very interesting. Jethro, the father in-law of Moses had gone to visit him in the wilderness on their way to Canaan. He watched how his son in law sat down to judge the people’s matters from morning till night. “This young man will cut short his life if he does not learn the principle of delegation,” he must have said. He counseled Moses in Exodus 18:21. It says, Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness : and place such over them to be rulers of….

Choose able men, Jethro said. Tell me what ability for leadership there is in a man who is seventy years and above? When God chose men for leadership in Israel, He chose men who were in their prime. Both King David and Joseph ascended the thrones in their early thirties. Never forget that our God is the God of knowledge.

Proverbs 20:29 says that the glory of young men is their strength. Check 1 John 2:14 also. It says, …I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong.

Young men are strong and strength is needed for good governance. Beyond that, I believe that the main reason why our God of wisdom placed young men in leadership in Israel is found in Joel 2:28. Here, we are told that while old men dream dreams, young men see visions. We need visionary young men for leadership in this nation. Never forget that the Word of God tells us that where there is no vision, the people perish.

You can see why we must not fold our hands. In addition to praying earnestly for this nation, we must ensure that we vote for the Davids. The Josephs must come to power with strength, vision and Godliness. Enough of Sauls in this nation.

MAXIMIZE THE MOMENT

Image result for maximize the moment

I had an opportunity to talk with some single sisters in a meeting last Saturday and do you know part of what I told them? Maximize this period of your life. I told them that the time they have now, they will never have again once they say I DO. Talk about the responsibilities that come with marriage and motherhood!!

I saw something quite interesting from the book of Mathew yesterday. The Lord Jesus Christ entered into a particular city in Mathew 13. Guess what happened? They despised him. Is not this the carpenter’s son?. Scripture says that they were offended at him and consequently, He could not do much for them.

Contrast that with the response of the men in the next city He went to. Matthew 14:35 says, And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased. These men emptied their hospitals and every sick person in their community was healed. Talk about people maximizing their moment.

I believe in excellence. My husband will tell me “Baby, don’t use the available, rather use the best” When it comes to books, whose opinion can be better than that of a professor? I chose to maximize the moment a couple of years ago by sending the manuscript of one of my books to Profession Akin Ige. He is a Christian leader and a professor of Geochemistry. As a very busy man of God, I had expected him to take a long time to read through THE WINNING CHRISTIAN.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a mail from him a few days after and this was what he said and I quote. ” My sister, I have read your power packed book. You cannot even begin to imagine where this book will get to. I believe that the secrets expounded here are smarter than what you will get in Harvard or any other world class University.
Professor Akin Ige lives in United States and he is a 2014. Woodrow Wilson Fellow.

THE WINNING CHRISTIAN has gone through the tables of another professor. This time, an English lecturer who did the professional editing.

We have finally sent THE WINNING CHRISTIAN out to be a blessing to the world in various platforms but only in the e-book format for now. We have it in Amazon, Okada books or you can even buy it directly from our website for only a token fee of 500. That could be the best 500 naira ever spent.

We trust God to publish THE WINNING CHRISTIAN soonest since most people in our clime do not have a Kindle. Please contact me if the Lord touches your heart to be a part of this project or call Leke on 08139739265.

To further maximize the moment in pushing THE WINNING CHRISTIAN to the world, I will need your help. Just tell someone about it. I will be everywhere with the promo including your timeline. Whoever lights a candle and hides it under a bushel?

Forgive me if I am too pushy this morning. I am just maximizing the moment.

You are blessed.

TRY MEDITATION

Image result for meditation

Is it possible for someone to be happily married like you if she refuses to marry who God wants her to marry? Sister Nike Ayoola had responded that it is only a fool that knows what God wants her to do and refuses to do it. That response did something in me. Lord, bring brother Dave back and if he is involved in another relationship already, scatter it and bring him back. You will honestly love to read the amazing story of God’s faithfulness to me in our book titled HELPMEET.

I know that I have sister Nike’s. permission to extend her response to me over my marital choice to a divine instruction this morning. Genesis 24:63 says,” And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide and he lifted up his eyes, and saw…. ” Isaac created time to meditate. Remember that from Joshua 1:8, we are told that meditation in God’s Word is central to having good success. If someone knows how important meditation is and refuses to do it, what does sister Nike call the person?

1Timothy 4:15 says, Meditate upon these things, give thyself wholly to them that thy profiting may appear to all. Do you want profiting this year? Then pay attention to meditation in the Word of God.

It is obvious that we live in a distracted world. Our world is not only too busy but also too noisy. There is too much information flying around. People are creating all manner of social groups and adding your names anyhow. Do you have to be committed to all? The beautiful thing is that there is always an exit button to hit to leave any group that becomes distracting to you. You need to keep your focus. Be selective in what you read. Read empowering write ups. Remember that what you read is the raw material for your meditation.

This year, your profiting will appear to all in Jesus name.

IT IS JUST FOR A SEASON

In His wisdom, God made the different seasons of the earth. The book of Ecclesiastes rightly tells us that there is time for every thing. Still saying the same thing in a different way, Genesis 8:22 tells us that seedtime will always alternate with harvest time. This shows us that no condition is ordained to last forever.

Exodus 12:51 says, And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies. I can imagine their joy that morning. They moved from slavery into freedom. They translated from oppression to their glorious liberty.

The victory of Israel here is more than a story to me. It tells me that no matter what oppression you may be going through today, it will equally come to an end. Has lack and poverty besieged your home? It will come to an end. Is it sickness that is tormenting you or yours? It has an expiry date.

All we need to do is to borrow some lessons from Moses here to know how to exit recessive or oppressive zones. Moses was vitally connected to God. He was in communication with God always. He never relented in confronting Pharaoh with the Word of God. At the end of the day, hear what Pharaoh told him in Exodus 12:31. It says…. Rise up and get you forth from my people, both ye and the children of Israel: and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.

Go and serve your God as you have said. Moses got what he said. Remember that hell has not ceased from being stubborn. Don’t get discouraged when your answer does not come immediately. As we saw above, Moses kept asking until he got their deliverance. Your victory is sure in Jesus name.

WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDS?

Image result for what is in your hands

I listened to the inspiring story of a certain immigrant woman who started her sewing career in America with a sewing machine that she picked in a junkyard. Today, she is sewing for kings. She was the person that made the wedding gown of the first daughter of Joni and Marcus Lamb of Daystar Christian Television station in America. Talk about the Almighty God placing a sewing needle in the hands of that dear woman of God.

Exodus 4:2. says, And the Lord said unto him what is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.. Moses had a rod in his hand before the Lord met with him. After his divine encounter with the Lord, a divine rod was exchanged for his shepherd rod. With the rod of God in hand, Moses was granted audience before Pharaoh who was the greatest world leader in their time.

Praying for the people of God before his death, Moses had this to tell the tribe of Judah in Deuteronomy 33:7. It says,… Let his hands be sufficient for him and be thou an help to him from his enemies. What a beautiful prayer point. How about speaking to your hands and declaring that they will be sufficient for you.

I have always loved another scripture that has to do with hands in 1 Thessalonians 4:11. It says, And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business and to work with your own hands as we commanded you. This is a timely counsel especially in this easily distracted world we live in. The scripture above says we should try to do our own business. It encourages us to work with our hands. This is why it is so important to know what the Lord has placed in your hand and to pay an undivided attention to it.

Focus is the game of champions. Determine to focus on what the Lord wants you to do with your life. We are not called to please everybody. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, says the Word of God.

I heard that research has it that people spend an average of five hours daily with their cell phones in hand. Where the Lord placed a rod in the hands of Moses, the world has placed cell phones in our own hands. Useful as our phones are, we should not let them control us. Be diligent with what the Lord has placed in your hands and kings will come looking for you in Jesus name.

STOP THAT STRIFE!!

Related image

I saw so many virtues in the life of father Abraham recently. What an amazing man of God he was!! So early in the history of the wold, father Abraham already knew that strife was a terrible weapon of destruction. See what he told Lot in Genesis 13:8.which says, And Abram said unto Lot, let there be no strife, I pray thee between me and thee…

2 Timothy 2:24 says, And the servant of the Lord must not strive…. Must is one of the strongest words in the English dictionary. That tells me that the verse of scripture above is not a suggestion but a command. Are you a child of God? Then scripture says you must not strive. Why? James 3:16.says, For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. You get to some homes or ministries and the cloud of strife is thick enough to sit on and read the evening news. This tells me who is in charge there.

If you truly belong to Jesus, you must not thrive in strife. Do something urgently and restore peace. It was Abraham that took steps to end the strife that reared its ugly head between him and Lot. This tells us that the most mature person in any relationship should take the first step in peace making.

If you ask many of the people in prison today, they will confirm that having haboured strife for long, they ended up doing something stupid at an unguarded moment. That is why we should treat strife as the monster it really is. Give it no place between you and your spouse, children, in-laws, colleagues and more. Remember that anything that is rooted in hell will steal, kill and destroy. It is just a matter of time.

DELIVERANCE BY THE MOUTH.

Moses is such a beautiful Bible character. I find everything about him very inspiring. May his mum, sister Jochabed be eternally blessed. What a wonderful mother she was. She literally saw the invisible in her son and refused to submit him to the sword of Pharaoh. That reminds me that when we are determined to do something worthy of praise, our God sends us help profusely.

Reading through the interaction between Moses and the Lord at the back side of the desert yesterday was so interesting to me. Go and be my instrument of deliverance from Pharaoh. Moses opened his ‘cans’ of objections and excuses. I am sure that Moses never remembered that our God is both an advocate and the Judge of the whole earth. Who can win an argument with Him?

Exodus 4:12 says, Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say. What i got from this scripture is huge. Remember that Moses was being sent for a deliverance exercise. The Lord did not promise him AK47. He told him that He will be with his mouth. This makes our mouth a vital tool in our deliverance.

Reading further in Exodus chapter 6, I saw this phrase written about six times – I AM THE LORD. How much strength I drew from that. Yes Lord, you are the Lord. You are the one that drowned Pharaoh and his mighty army. You drowned them with their horses and chariots. You did it then, you can still do it today. You are well able to drown the modern Pharaohs with their Ak47. Nothing prevails against the Church of the Living God in this nation. Lord you are the Lord. You said that you will build your Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against us. So it is written, decreed and established in Jesus name.

It pays to draw faith, peace and encouragement from scriptures instead of fear from some other sources. Remember that the Lord is with our mouths. Please speak living Words always.

WINNING BY TRAINING

Image result for winning trophy

“That person you just spoke with now will succeed” That was my big sister’s remark as she overheard my discussion with one of my babies in faith who just relocated to another nation. I had commended her ability to learn to speak Spanish language. “Mummy, I want to learn more” Of course, I forwarded her a website that can help her learn that language better.

Genesis 14:14 says, And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. If you read further in the chapter, you will see that father Abraham won that battle with his TRAINED servants. As our father of faith, he was showing us here that we win the battles of life by and with our trainings.

Get some more training. You can increase your earnings by your trainings. Athan is a highly gifted young man that the Lord brought to work for my big sister years ago. He was so very good in hat making. You might have noticed that there are alternative things that people are using mainly for covering their hairs during worship these days. This brought a decline in patronage for his hats. The young man told my sister that he had decided to go and acquire a new skill. That is very commendable.

It is so beautiful to know that you can learn anything you choose to learn to become a success in any field of your choice especially if you flow with your natural giftings and divine guidance.

You can learn a new language. Jim Rohn says that any new language you pick increases your earning potential by several thousand dollars per year. Yet, a lot of young people will prefer to listen to junk music for hours. The same time so spent could have been invested in listening to teachings on a foreign language.

This year, do not just sing Abraham’s blessings are mine. Do what father Abraham did. He paid attention to trainings. All three hundred and eighteen servants in his house were not just trained but also armed. Train and arm yourself for victory.

Please share this post with young people around you. You can also get copies of our book titled HOW TO FLOURISH IN RECESSION for them.

MAKE A MOVE.

Image result for man running

One of the saddest incidents that took place in the world in recent years is the sinking of the ship that had hundreds of South Korean school children that were on a trip. Many questioned the wisdom in the captain’s instruction for the children to sit still in a sinking ship until they sank with it. That is exactly what a lot of people do. Why cling to a job that can hardly feed you? Have you thought of alternatives?

Again, father Abraham comes to mind as a man of God who was proactive. When his nephew was carried, he pursued and recovered him. When strife arose in his household, he handled it and when lack of water starred him in the face, he dug wells.

Are you stranded? Perhaps you are currently in a pig’s pen? Then make a move. The prodigal son of Luke 15 had a self talk. He arose and made a move that ended his misery. Scripture tells us that we have the mind of Christ. Sometimes, it pays to sit down, think and take some bold steps to usher you into new seasons of life.

Progress in life is related to action. Do something. Passivity does no one no good. If you are a child of God, then our Good Shephard is always giving us progressive ideas. You know the problem of many? PARALYSIS BY ANALYSIS!!!! WE analyze every single divine idea until it gets paralyzed. This new year, decide to boldly step out and try out the ideas you have nursed for so long. Proverbs 28:1 tells us that the righteous is bold as a lion and of course Mathews 11:12 is there to remind us that the
violent takes it by force.
