Who Says You Can Not Be Rich?
“Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it.” – Buddha
The above quotation tells us that there is a purpose for everyone born into this world. It equally shows that the discovery of that purpose should be the singular most important pursuit an individual can make. As long as a man is able to determine the vision for his life, he will always have provision. Like I said in my book THE GOLD IN MY GARDEN, life is like an athletic race whereby each athlete is placed on a track and is meant to stay on the track till the finish line. Staying on the track guarantees success for such a person.
Extending that line of thought further, Reverend Sam Adeyemi said that every human being is an extension of God. This means that there is a part of God in every human being and this can only be true because the Bible tells us that God made man in His own image.
It is important to point out that there is a part of God that is musical and He has dropped that part in some people which is why they can bring heaven down when they sing. There is a part of God that is artistic and He has dropped that part in some people. My husband’s young nephew sent a picture of a Nigerian musician he drew with pencil recently and I was awed. How can someone so young do that if not enabled? There is a part of God that is aesthetic and He has dropped that part in some people and by that they can daze the world with their creations. There is still a part of God that is scientific or poetic which He has graciously dropped in certain people.
Whichever part of God that is deposited in you is what gives you the capacity to influence your world positively. That is equally what gives you the opportunity to create wealth. This is because money is usually a reward for the value we create and share with the world. When a man is able to recognize the God deposit in him and works hard at creating value with it, money naturally flows to him. That is why Jim Rohn says that money is usually attracted not pursued. We attract money when we are able to channel the force of diligence in working at our gifts and talents which are the deposits of God in us.
The Force of Diligence (1)
As we have seen above, every one of us received a part of God which gives us the capacity to bless our world. However, God gives everything in seed form and expects us to nurture them. Henry Ford may have received the part of God that was technological, but it took the force of diligence and hard work for him to excel. History tells us how hard he worked until he was able to produce the Ford brand of vehicles which eventually attracted wealth to him. By the production of his vehicles, he added value to the world. He solved the problem of transportation for humanity and as a result, money flowed in his direction.
This is a fulfilment of the law of money that states that money flows to those who have value to give in exchange for it. This should give everyone the assurance that as long as you are able to recognize the God part in you, which is your talents, skills, passions, etc. and work hard at creating value, nothing can stop you from creating wealth.
The sad truth however is that our world is filled with so many talented people who are held down by slothfulness.
The Force of Diligence (2)
I stepped down from the train in Caracas one night while heading back home when I noticed an amazing gift. Seated on the floor of the station with his wonderful works of art was an elderly man. Everything about him spelt poverty and lack. And I thought to myself, “how can anyone be this gifted and poor?” Something in me rose up to see how I could help him to showcase his works. I asked for his phone number, and he told me that he had no phone. I rested my case as I moved home, pensive.
Our world is filled with people like that. Highly gifted but seated at poverty zones. If only men could work harder and save a little money, they can change their stories. A little can always become much with wise investment.
The Shark And The Bait
Recently, I watched a group of scientists on television as they busied themselves with catching a big shark for some scientific studies. They worked hard in putting things in place and setting up their bait. The bait was a small fish which they knew that the shark loved. Eventually they succeeded in catching the big shark for their studies. 
That reminds me of what happens with our finances. With a little savings, we can always look out for good investment opportunities. With time, the little amount of money invested will attract and catch a big ‘money shark’ for you.
That is why you should never allow anyone to tell you that you cannot be rich. The Bible says that you are the salt of the earth. The Almighty God has graciously endowed you with the gifts to season your world. Recognize those gifts in you and work hard with them. Do not yield to the consumer culture that is prevalent in our world these days. Do not spend everything you earn. As you save your money and invest wisely, wealth will flow to you.
