JESUS OUR WISDOM

Years ago, I did industrial attachment at Eko Hotels. I watched as guests would go round the buffet tables with plates in hand picking what they wanted. The Bible is a buffet of a sort. It is wisdom to pick the truths that are relevant to you and leave the rest alone.  James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberaly, and upbraideth not: and it shall be given him”.

If I am in a prayer meeting and the leader raises a prayer point that we should all ask God to give us wisdom.  You will see me praying passionately.  However, I would have modified that prayer point slightly to suit my need.  Remember what I said about the buffet.  I will most likely be doing either of two things in my praying.  First is that I could be thanking God for giving me wisdom or I will be asking for the rich deposit of God’s wisdom in me to be stirred up.

First Corinthians 1:30.tells us that Christ has been made unto us wisdom among other things. This tells me that when Christ came into my heart, He came with the fullness of His wisdom. It is left for me to stir up that wisdom by being serious with my spiritual disciplines.

Secondly, Revelation 5:12 tells me that the Lamb of God was slain to receive wisdom among other things.  The major challenge we have as New Covenant believers is to know how to receive and activate the things that have been freely given to us. This is part of my motivation in writing some of my books.

It is my earnest desire to see Christian youths prosper and that is why we are offering a free download of our book FLOURISHING IN RECESSION in this season. Download it on our Book Store. The book is FREE. That book is full of insights that will enrich you in many ways.

LOOKING UNTO JESUS

I remember talking at length with an elderly sick lady once as she recounted all the evil deeds of her daughter against her.  “It is well ma. Please give me her full name and I will seek her out in France through social network.  You sure need to reconcile with her”.  You needed to see how the monster of bitterness rose up in her as she objected vehemently. This particular monster has sent more people to the cemeteries than any other.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith: Who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”.  Again I say that man is fallible.  When you look up to man for what you should receive from Jesus, you set yourself up for disappointment. ‘But he is a man of God’, you hear some people say.  To that, I point you to Luke 8. There, the Word of God tells us the parable of the sower.  We are told that some of those seeds fell on shallow soil and sprang up immediately.  Have you considered that some of them sprang up and became leaders in our Churches having neither depth nor roots.  Looking unto people like that will be toiling with disappointment.

Look unto Jesus.  Hebrews chapter one tells us that God spoke to our fathers in the past through various means but in these last days, has chosen to speak to us through His son.  That His son is one with His Word according to John 1:1. Looking unto Jesus really means filling our hearts with the Word and doing what it says.

When a cup is filled to the brim with water, there will be no space for kerosene.  When your heart is full of the Word, there will be no space for bitterness.

Having said all that, I have noticed from scripture that there are people we are told not to company with.  The law of association is one of the most important laws of success.  In John 15, we are told that our father prunes the vine to make it more fruitful.  You just have to learn how to prune disempowering relationships in your life. This was part of my motivation for writing THE KINGDOM WOMAN. Nobody maximizes destiny tied up with toxic relationships.

GOD WILL NOT PEEL YOUR COCONUT FOR YOU

I remember that day vividly. I had been muttering to the Lord to use me and bless my world. As I did my chores, I continued to desire that of the Lord. Start from where you are, I heard from my spirit. What does that mean? I got quiet and listened and sure enough, I got it. I was being led to start posting inspiring thoughts on face book. I picked my phone and posted this – GOD GIVES US COCONUTS BUT DOES NOT PEEL THEM FOR US….

To eat the coconuts or bananas that the Lord has created, we have to do the peeling ourselves. As loving as our heavenly father is, if we begin to wait for Him to peel our fruits for us, we will wait for a long time.

In the same way, by His death on the Cross of Calvary,  the Lord Jesus has connected us to the Covenant blessings of Abraham. This Covenant ushers us into the realms of wealth. To access this wealth however, we must peel our coconut. How? To Moses, the Lord asked what is in your hand and to the widow woman of 2Kings 4, prophet Elisha asked what do you have in the house? That widow was later asked to go and sell her miracle oil.

The Word is a lamp to my feet, I heard that woman of God say. That Word tells me that there is that scatters and increases. Therefore, this oil must go to as many outlets as possible.

The blessing of the Word of God is in its application. I saw sister Mope’s excellent book for young children titled KUBI THE LION PRINCE in Jumia last night. She tells me that she is running with an insight she gleaned from one of my books titled HOW TO FLOURISH IN SEASONS OF RECESSION. In that book, I had said that the world celebrates bestsellers and not best writers.

What do you have in your hand? What do you have in your house? How are you trying to create a vent for the wealth of Calvary to flow to you? Remember, God will not peel your coconut for you.

GOD CANNOT LIE

In hope of eternal life which God, that cannot lie promised before the world began Titus 1:2. This scripture says that God CANNOT LIE.

I met a sister years ago who was trusting God for the fruits of the womb. As the months rolled into years with this unmet expectation, she became bitter with God. I am angry with God, she said to me one day. To her, God had lied. He had promised that she would not be barren but there she was with empty quivers. You see, this world has been created to run on laws and principles. Recently, I said that God gives us coconut to enjoy but does not peel it for us. He neither breaks the shell nor serves it in a plate for us. There are things that God does for us and the things we must do for ourselves.

It is our responsibility to allign ourselves with the principles and laws that govern this world. Lets look at the sister that was angry with God. The principle of the Kingdom says, come to God with thanksgiving and she is coming with anger, bitterness, complaining and murmuring. I can almost imagine her punching her password on the ATM of heaven for her baby and having WRONG CODE given back to her. Again, I say that you do not obtain Kingdom benefits with bitterness.

That God cannot lie is an eternal truth and so is ask and you shall recieve.  Are you asking? How about seeking and knocking? I have discovered that in life, it is those that seek that find. It is equally those that knock that get doors opened to them. Some doors, you approach with boldness and courage. Some other doors, you approach with wisdom. For some other doors, you approach with violence. Did the scripture not say that the violent takes it by force?

As I left a particular office with Treasure my daughter yesterday, I said indeed, our God never lies. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. May His holy name be praised forever more.

WAYS TO HANDLE SUCCESS

Bro Gerald was my prayer leader years ago when I was a member of the prayer unit in my church. We heard him raise many beautiful prayer points. One of them came to my mind recently. Lord, that promotion that will come to me and take me away from you, may it never come, he would say.  I pondered on this prayer point because of our friend that I told you has just been promoted massively. Dear Jesus, may this promotion not cause his love for you to wane.

Reading my Bible last night, I saw where Apostle Paul was asking brethren to pray that the door of utterance be opened to him. Our God does not just open doors, but is the door. One person He opened a great door for that comes to mind readily is Uzziah. Scripture told us that this young man sought the Lord. Remember we said that our God settles His own. The door of inspiration was opened to this man of God. He created and invented great things. Soon, wealth came in torrents and unfortunately, he was swept away.

Sometimes, my imagination can go very far. What if Uzziah is given an opportunity to return to life to give a seminar with the theme HOW TO MANAGE SUCCESS.?  Would you be willing to attend such a seminar to hear him teach on his pitfalls?

Scripture encourages us to compare spiritual things with spiritual. Where Uzziah failed, Daniel succeeded. Let’s turn to him for answers on what to do when success, wealth, victory and promotion comes to us in torrents. Daniel had all these and still ended well.

Let’s begin at the beginning. Daniel 1:8.says, But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…. This is where it all starts. It starts with a DECISION.

Next, Daniel surrounded himself with godly friends. You cannot underestimate the power of GODLY ASSOCIATION. Mingle with the godly in that new level. Why? Because new levels usually attract new devils. Psalm 1 warns us not to walk, stand nor sit with sinners and the scornful. Maybe because of the deceitfulness of riches, such exalted offices are filled with such and my brother is to be among them 8 to 5 every day and still remain fervent?

The third key that saw Daniel through was PRAYER. He prayed and prevailed when he did not have the ability to pray in tongues. Who does not know how to get out from “chokky” atmospheres, enter the rest room and release some mysteries if need be? Bro K, this message is for you and others. Stay strong. Stay fervent. Stay vitally connected to the true vine. We love you. We desire that you finish well like Daniel. The story of Uzziah must never be repeated in you.

Have a beautiful weekend.

GOD WILL SETTLE YOU

Talk about meanness!! These men will pick young boys from very poor families in the villages. They will promise to settle them with huge sums of money if they should serve them for certain number of years. During this period, such young men are almost reduced to the status of slaves. Just a few months to the agreed period, the business owner comes with an accusation. If he did not say that the young man stole his money, he will come up with another serious accusation. At the end of the day, the young man is driven out without compensation for his labour. Talk about the heart of man being desperately wicked.

Our God is not like that. He is forever faithful. 1Peter 5:10.says,  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. What a beautiful scripture!!!!

The Lord will settle you. Remember that Jesus is our perfect example in all things. Scripture says that He learnt obedience through the things he suffered. Sometimes, suffering could be a friend. As we go through the furnace, all the dross is burnt out leaving the glory and beauty for all to see.

As I took time to explain in HOW TO FLOURISH IN SEASONS OF RECESSION, our God has created the different seasons of life. Can you imagine what will happen if all we had was winter? What if it was only rainy season we have. Do you know that the ground will get so wet and soggy and everything will crumble? How about if we had only the dry seasons? You can be sure that all things will get scorched.

I just want to encourage you this morning. That trial will not last forever. I have spent the last few days giving God praise for one of our friends. He went through one of those tough trials but suddenly, the trial ended in praise, Hallelujah!!! Our faithful God that settles His own settled him. Yours will not be impossible with Him.

You are blessed.

TAKING IT BY FORCE

I remember the doctor telling me that there was no medical explanation on how I survived what happened to me then.

Hell had determined to kill both me and my baby boy on the very day he was born, but my God was not asleep. On the day Danny was dedicated, I said, like Hannah, that for this child I prayed and the Lord granted me my heart desires. Danny is the icing on my cake.

So you can imagine how I felt when he took ill during our first few weeks in the mission field. Hell was out once again to snatch my son, but again my God was not asleep. Danny would cough for an extended period and then throw up. Nothing he ate was retained. The agony of watching him in this torment was terrible for me.

Mathew 11:12.says, And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

I finally got violent with that ugly situation. I had a self-talk. “The Bible says that whatever Adam called anything, it was upheld by heaven. I therefore name this cough a mirage. Just like a mirage, cough, I will look for you and see you no more.” “ Cough”, i continued, “I name you a vapour, I will look for you and see you no more.” I sat by my son. Each time he coughed, I released a scripture against that cough. I used every relevant scripture I knew in addition to the blood. It was a whole day business. I mean that for the whole day, I wrote nothing and cooked nothing. I sat by my son and took a violent stand against that demonic cough. Do you know what happened? In the night, my son slept through the night without coughing once and that was how the cough became a mirage indeed.

Later that night, my eyes were opened to see one ugly creature with blisters all over. I took authority over it and cast it out. Life is spiritual and our God does not lie. His Word remains the truth forever.

I saw a man cutting a small tree a few days ago. I took note of the fact that he was cutting a particular spot consistently. With that, the tree was brought down in a short time. Imagine if the man was exerting the same effort but cutting at different parts of the tree? The Word is a sword and it cuts just like physical swords. Decide to choke hell through your confessions. Give him no breathing space until he releases what rightfully belongs to you.

I listened to a young man tell about how he got tired of having no babies in his marriage. Having known that their problem was not medical, they decided to get violent. He said that they spoke to that mountain day and night until the devil loosened his hold. He said that they took turns to sleep. When he was in bed, his wife was awake talking to their mountain. The next month, the sister conceived.

The scriptures say that with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. Give no place to the devil. Refuse to tolerate him and the circumstances he induces.

Remember once again that the violent taketh it by force.

You are blessed.

A LESSON ON LEECHES

I hate leeches, my daughter said to me a few days ago. “This girl has started,” I thought. She just has a way with words.

But you know leeches, don’t you? We see them on the bodies of animals. A leech on the skin of a cow is not willing to do much for himself. It passively stays on the back of that animal, sucking nutrients from it. The worst part is that even when it reproduces, it still expects the host animal to provide everything that its babies require.

You see them in our families and churches too. Able-bodied humans made in the image of God who have refused to do much for themselves. When you go to church on Sunday, they are at home sleeping. When you are at home reading your Bible, they are watching home videos. While you are training your mind, they are busy entertaining theirs.

Do you know what? You cannot have a great life as a leech. You have what it takes to be great like anyone else. It is even easier to succeed in life if you are a Nigerian. We are so blessed in this nation with great men of God. Our nation is oozing with insight and inspiration from all corners. Take this counsel from me for I mean well: do not depend on one wealthy relation or friend. If Lazarus could speak from Heaven, he will tell you that the rich can only give you crumbs. So why settle for crumbs when you can access full loaves?

Matthew: 12:35 says, A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things. Our hearts are our result centres. From our heart, we pull out good things. The only challenge is that you will first have to input good things there before you can pull them out in multiplied folds. Why don’t you set a goal for yourself for the next two or three months. Bombard your heart with inspired materials. I think it was Job that said that he made a covenant with his eyes. Make a covenant with your eyes and ears to only watch and listen to the Word of grace and other success laden resources. You will be surprised at what transformation that would have taken place in you after only three months.

You are blessed.
