MIGHTY SEEDS
I listened to a man of God and his wife on TV yesterday as they taught on the different seasons of life which was incidentally what my pastor’s message on Sunday dwelt on. The woman of God specifically said that for those who are in the season when they are raising teenagers, that they should depend on God and His wisdom to go through that difficult season of life. Being that all three of my children are teenagers, I gave their excellent counsel some thought but said to myself, whoever said that teenage years should be dreaded by parents?
Deuteronomy 28:41 says, Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. To have children and not enjoy them is a curse whether they are toddlers or teens. This curse as proclaimed above is on people who are rebellious to God’s Word. For those who are yielded to our God we have access to God’s wisdom as it pertains to what to do in raising our children without much stress and strife. There are numerous things we can do as parents but permit me to dwell on one here.
Genesis 28:1 says, And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him.. He went further in verse three and said, And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee….. The man of God had gone ahead here to proclaim the blessings of God on his seed. If he did that a few times in his dispensation, we should lay hands on our seeds as often as possible to declare the blessings of God on them. How about laying hands on them and declaring: Lord, I fasten the feet of these teens into divine stocks in the kingdom, they will not wander away into territories of death in Jesus name. We are blessed to have Mrs Funke Adejumo in this nation who God has used to raise wonderful prayer points that we can pray over our children.
The violent takes it by force says the scriptures. We can step up our prayer temperature for our wards. They are given to us as mighty seeds and the gates of hell will not prevail against them.
